Australian Wood Packaging Certification Scheme
The Australian Wood Packaging Certification Scheme (AWPCS) has been developed by AQIS (Australian Quarantine Inspection Service) to ensure that Australian treatment providers and wood packaging manufacturers produce wood packaging material that meets the requirements of the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM15).
All wood packaging used to export goods must now meet ISPM15. This worldwide standard is designed to prevent contaminated wood from being exported/imported, and was introduced in 2002. AsureQuality is accredited as a certification body for the AQIS Australian Wood Packaging Certification Scheme through JAS-ANZ, so that in turn we may verify wood packaging suppliers, manufacturers and repairers to the ISPM15 standard.
How does the Australian Wood Packaging Programme benefit you?
Our Wood Packaging Programme involves a series of audits and product inspections. Once verified, suppliers, manufacturers and repairers of relevant wood packaging material are authorised to apply the registered IPPC mark (AQIS approved) to each article attesting that it has met the ISPM15 requirements and AWPCS. The programme ensures that our customers gain hassle-free export market access for Wood Packaging internationally, often reducing 'on-the-wharf' waiting times.
