For more info download the AgriTags flier (260KB PDF).

    Blood sampling
AsureQuality offer routine testing for Enzootic Bovine Leukosis (EBL) and Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD). Achieving higher health statuses, by demonstrating absence of such diseases, leads ultimately to better returns.

    Calf disbudding
Farmers concerned with animal welfare, production and financial return should be aware of the benefits of removing the horns from calves. AsureQuality have been promoting and servicing this practice for many years and prefer calves be disbudded before they reach six weeks of age for welfare and ease of handling reasons.

CAE testing and certification for goat herds
Voluntary Caprine Encephalitis and Arthritis (CEA) testing and certification is provided by AsureQuality to goat farmers who wish to control and eradicate the disease from their herds for animal health and commercial benefits.

    Cattle weighing
Farmers regularly use weight records and rates to assist in identifying emerging health or feed quality problems. AsureQuality's experienced stock handlers will provide electronic scales and a report detailing weights at the completion of weighing.

    Condition scoring
Condition scoring provides a sound impartial assessment of the condition of the herd. Qualified staff provide condition scoring services, often in conjunction with cattle weighing.

    Earmarks and brands registration
We provide a registration service that is backed by our integrity and quality systems with every effort made to ensure uniqueness. Registrations are valid for five years and cost $67.50 inc. GST.

    Facial Eczema monitoring
There are a number of management and prevention options available to counteract the risk of Facial Eczema, which is a potentially fatal disease that thickens the bile ducts, subsequently damaging the liver of sheep, goats, cattle and deer. The disease is caused by the toxin sporidesmin, which is produced by the spores of the fungus pithomyces chartarum. AsureQuality offers a range of spore monitoring packages to aid in identifying the level of spores and consequent risk that a paddock may present.

    Hormone growth promotant
Random sampling of cattle is undertaken on bahalf of MAF to monitor whether the required identification of treated cattle has been made.

    Lepto vaccination
We offer a comprehensive Leptospirosis control programme, supported by a programme of good farm management practices and animal husbandry techniques in a holistic risk management approach. This programme can be used on all farm types - dairy, beef, sheep, deer and pigs.

Sire proving, weighing and DNA sampling
AsureQuality provides artificial breeding companies verification of parentage in sire proving herds. This service involves the cattle being weighed and blood tested.

    Stock Crate Quality Assurance
Stock crates are certified to an industry standard of animal welfare, hygiene and product quality under the auspices of the Road Transport Forum. This standard is used by major meat processors as part of their 'paddock to plate' quality assurance programmes.

    Tb testing
With extensive knowledge of Tb and the associated policies, plus proven stock handling skills, AsureQuality's On-farm Services staff are well equipped to provide efficient and cost-effective Tb testing services.

    Veterinary epidemiology
AsureQuality’s veterinary team has extensive experience in the management of diseases in farm animals and other animals in New Zealand. Specialist epidemiological services for management of disease at a herd or regional level are a feature of this group.
